  1. hawaii is part of the United States, so therefor you do not need any passport.

  2. Since you will be traveling wholly within the US to and from Hawaii there will be no need to prove citizenship and thus no requirement to have a passport. But you will need a photo ID and you will need proof of identity for your children. Here’s what American Airlines has on its web site about traveling with children under the age of 18:

    ” Passengers 18 years of age or older are required to have government-issued photo identification for travel within the United States. However, you may be required to present proof of age (such as a birth certificate) at the airport for any children under the age of 18 who are traveling with you. ”

    Other airlines will likely have about the same requirement.

  3. Time traveler is so correct. Just book your flight and go. Not unlike flying to any other USA destination.
